Determine Your Process: Look at the room and start pulling from the back of the room. Pull from the corner towards the center of the room, working your way out of the room through the door. Cut the carpet, this can be done with a Jus Push or a utility knife. We cut the carpet in three foot wide sections so they are easier to handle. The Carpet CLAW™ will pull out sections that are wider, so this is at your discretion.
Release the Clutch by moving clutch lever forward and walk “The Claw” to the area where you are going to start pulling.
IMPORTANT:
The cable hook must be stopped 10" (ten inches) before the bearing block to prevent damage to both the winch and the bearing block.
Pull up on the cable as the winch reels in keeping slack out of the cable. Let the winch pull the cable tight. This keeps the cable from tangling and causing damage to the winch.
Pull up approximately a 3” by 3” Corner of carpet with a hook. Place a corner of "The CLAW" on the backside of your lifted corner. Apply a small amount of pressure to The Carpet CLAW™ so that it grabs the carpeting going through the back of the lifted carpet, but not grabbing the face of the carpet that is adhered to the floor. Engage the clutch by turning the clutch knob counter clockwise or towards you. Press the on switch to engage the winch.
